Gatwick Airport (IATA: LGW; ICAO: EGKK), named as Gatwick International Airport, is the main international airport serving London, in south-east England. Concretely, it is located in Crawley, about 45 km away from London city centre.

Gatwick Airport has a very good connected railway system, linking passengers to 129 train stations directly and over 700 within just one change. At LGW you’ll find the following train operators: 

- Gatwick Express provides a direct, premium 30-minute service to London Victoria, departing every 15 minutes in peak periods. Two trains per hour extend to Brighton at peak times. You can save 10% if you book in advance.

- Southern provides services across London and the South-East, including London Victoria, London Bridge, Clapham Junction, Brighton, Southampton, Eastbourne and Portsmouth, as well as many local stations.

- Thameslink connects Gatwick to the south coast at Brighton, central London through London Bridge, St. Pancras International and Farringdon, and north to Bedford. Thameslink also provides a direct train to Luton Airport Parkway.

- Great Western Railway runs an hourly service between Gatwick Airport and Reading, via Redhill, Reigate and Guildford.

There are fast and frequent trains between Gatwick Airport and London.

- Gatwick Express is the fastest rail link between the airport and central London. Non-stop trains are running to and from London Victoria every 15 minutes and the trip takes 30 minutes (35 minutes on Sundays). You can save 10% if you book in advance.

You can buy tickets for any rail service at the station or the rail ticket desk in the Onward Travel area in South Terminal. Something which can be really practical is that some airlines sell Gatwick Express tickets on-board, so you can skip the queues once you arrive. You can also buy Gatwick Express tickets from the Moneycorp bureaux and Airport Concierge desks across the airport, as well as Gatwick Connects desks in the baggage reclaim halls. 

You can skip the queues by paying for your rail travel with by Oyster or Contactless card by tapping in at the station, with fares from 8£ in off-peak periods. You can buy Oyster cards from the station or from the Transport for London desks in both terminals.
